What documents do I need when shipping from Germany?

An MRN (Movement Reference Number) is an export declaration document required by German customs law for high-value shipments over 1000 EURO.

As the MRN needs to be applied for locally in Germany by the exporter we are unfortunately unable to do this on your behalf.

You will need to send an email to the AES Service Desk at the following address and request an MRN: AES-Service.DE@dhl.com

The AES Service Desk will provide you with all the necessary information and instructions needed in order for them to prepare the export declaration document.

The MRN should be requested and received prior to shipping an order, as the additional paperwork received will need to be attached to the parcel for German customs. If the parcel is shipped without obtaining an MRN, the shipment will be returned back to you by customs.

Each shipment needs its own MRN, you cannot reuse the same number.
